The refrigerator is one of the household appliances that needs to be cleaned regularly, such as every two weeks or once a week. Besides smelling bad, it will generate bacteria that will get into your food.
Refrigerator walls and compartments accumulate residues that can contaminate food or accelerate its decomposition. There are several solutions to disinfect the fridge without using aggressive chemicals.
? Baking soda
If you want to disinfect your fridge, baking soda is the best option due to its deodorizing and antibacterial properties.
The recipe is simple: Put two cups of water and three tablespoons of baking soda in a large pot. Stir it with a spoon until it dissolves. Remove everything from the refrigerator. Start wiping the inside of the refrigerator with a clean cloth soaked in the solution. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then wipe with a dry cloth. Every week, repeat the process.
? Lemon juice
Lemon juice contains natural acids that are powerful bacteria removers. Leave half a lemon in the fridge for a few hours. In a few days, the ugly smell will go away. In the same way, a bowl filled with baking soda can be used.
What to do: Squeeze the juice from three lemons. Combine it with two cups of water. Pour the solution into a spray bottle. Remove everything from the refrigerator and spray lemon water all over the walls. Let the water act, then wipe with a cloth. Repeat the procedure twice a week.
? White vinegar
Vinegar has disinfectant properties. As a result, it can be used to disinfect and sterilize appliances around the house.
What to do: Dilute half a cup of white vinegar in 2 cups of water. Pour the solution into a spray bottle. After you’ve taken everything out of the refrigerator, spray the mixture inside and out and let it sit for five minutes. Using a clean cloth, wipe everything clean.
