How To Clean Stone Surfaces Properly & Maintain Their Beautiful Luster

1. A DIY vinegar solution for sandstone, granite, and slate surfaces

You can make this solution with the following ingredients:

– a gallon of hot water
– 1 cup of white vinegar
– 1 drop of dish liquid
– a few drops of lavender essential oil (here you can choose whichever essential oils you prefer to mask the smell of vinegar if you want to).

First of all, mix all the ingredients in a spray bottle or a bucket, depending on how large your surface is. Then, use it on the stone surfaces to clean any dust or dirt there is. Lastly, liberally rinse with water but make sure you pat dry the surfaces completely.

2. A DIY castile soap solution for marble, onyx, travertine and limestone floors

In order to prepare this solution, you will need:

– a gallon of hot water
– 2 tablespoons of liquid castile soap
– 10 drops of pine essential oil
– 5 drops of cypress essential oil.

First off, depending on your surfaces, mix all the ingredients on a bucket or a spray bottle and use to clean marble, onyx, travertine and limestone surfaces. They will feel squicky clean and shiny.

3. DIY homemade wipes for marble, onyx or limestone countertops

To make these homemade wipes, you will need:

– 1 cup of water
– 1 cup of white vinegar
– 10 drops of rosemary essential oil
– 10 drops of geranium essential oil
– a cellulose cloth cut into rectangles
– a plastic air-tight container.

Begin by mixing all the ingredients in a bowl. Furthermore, place your cellulose cloth in the mixing bowl with the solution allowing them to absorb the liquid. Then, immediately transfer them in the air-tight container and they are ready for use.

4. DIY scrub for bathroom stone surfaces

For this homemade soft scrub, you will need the following:

– a half cup of baking soda
– a half cup of powdered milk
– ½ cup of liquid castile soap
– 5 drops of lavender essential oil
– water
– a plastic squirt bottle.

Hence, start off by mixing the baking soda with the powdered milk, liquid castile soap, and the lavender essential oil. Then, pour the water into the bowl and make sure you get a smooth paste while mixing them. Next, you should transfer the solution into a plastic squirt bottle because it will make cleaning easier. It makes for a great soft scrub, cleaning with a damp cloth. Lastly, don’t forget to rinse very well.
